Lavender Diamond - “Open Your Heart” from Imagine Our Love
I don’t care much about Valentine’s Day because it’s ridiculous to get bent out of shape over one day when you should be telling the people in your life how much you love them on a regular basis, but I am excited because it’s Lindsay’s birthday and we are going to eat delicious food tonight in celebration. In addition to that, this work day is almost over and I am off work tomorrow, so I’m feeling pretty great. This song reflects where I am at pretty well (musically and vocally, not so much lyrically). Singer Becky Stark has a wonderfully pristine vocal delivery that perfectly accompanies this breezy piano driven folk-pop tune. I am a sucker for this kind of stuff even if it does vaguely remind me of people awkwardly dancing around in paisley shirts and ruffly dresses.
