Twin Shadow - “I Can’t Wait” from Forget
I’ve been listening to this record all morning and this song feels extremely topical because after weeks of super cold temperatures, a blizzard and trudging through grey and black snow, I’m ready for summer. I envision myself listening to “I Can’t Wait” really late at night with the windows down as I drive back home from being out all night. It also has a tense, suspenseful quality that reminds me of a song that’d be playing in the background of an 80’s movie as the protagonist enters a night club in a questionable neighborhood. I think it’s the guitar riff that comes in when the song picks up. Maybe it’s just me.
