Pusha-T - “My God” from Fear of God Mixtape
That last Clipse record left a lot to be desired in my opinion. There were some undeniable bangers on it, no question, but the weird song about God and changing their ways? The song about going to counseling? No thanks. I’m not trying to paint them into a corner, but Clipse is at their best when they are writing dark, detailed, gritty narratives about drug dealing and hustling on every level.
Pusha-T appeared on Kanye’s LP and a bunch of the GOOD Friday tracks and killed all of his spots, so I was psyched to hear he was putting out a solo record. Based on this song and “Cook it down” his Fear of God mixtape looks promising. Hopefully his LP shows the same return to form.
